NatureBureau Highly Commended at CIEEM awards
A few weeks ago, the NatureBureau Marine Team headed to the Leonardo Royal Hotel at London Tower Bridge for the 2025 CIEEM Awards Luncheon. It was a great opportunity to connect with others in the sector and celebrate the brilliant work happening across the UK in ecology and environmental management.
We were really pleased to be shortlisted for Small Consultancy of the Year and proud to be nominated alongside three other excellent consultancies, especially as this was our first time attending the awards. We came away with a Highly Commended award, which we’re delighted with.

The recognition reflects the hard work of the whole NatureBureau team, from our marine and terrestrial ecologists to our design team, our publications label and our office team. It’s a group effort, and it’s nice to see our work acknowledged.
The day itself was hugely enjoyable (if a bit warm at 32°C!). The lunch was excellent, the venue was welcoming, and the event was very well organised. We had plenty of opportunity to mingle and network with CIEEM staff, other attendees and fellow nominees. Alongside company awards, it was inspiring to hear about the range of projects that were up for awards. These included everything from nature reserve management and landfill restoration to new approaches for modelling tree canopy height. Overall, there was plenty of innovation and dedication on show.
We were especially pleased that CIEEM highlighted NatureBureau’s strength in combining design and ecology. That crossover is a big part of what we do, bringing nature into focus through clear, engaging communication, accurate and reliable science and practical delivery. We are one company with two passions!

NatureBureau has been a CIEEM member for over 30 years, and our Director of Ecology, Paul Goriup, is both a Chartered Ecologist and a Fellow of the Institute. We really value the professional community and standards that CIEEM supports, so being recognised by them is an honour.
All in all, it was a great day out for the team – and coming home with a commendation made it even better!
